U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers in Virginia have arrested one of El Salvador’s most wanted fugitives, an alleged MS-13 gang leader accused of murder and other violent crimes.

Authorities say the suspect entered the United States illegally and had been hiding in the country for several months before being located and taken into custody.

Officials described the arrest as a major success in international law enforcement cooperation and ongoing efforts to dismantle transnational criminal networks.
